Katy has broad experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes, including international arbitration and litigation. Her successes include an unqualified victory for Georges Tadonki, former Head of Office in the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Zimbabwe, in his dispute against the United Nations, a result that earned American Lawyer‘s first annual award for “Global Pro Bono Dispute of the Year 2013″.
Katy is also a member of the firm’s Political Advocacy group. Her public-record experience in that area includes work on behalf of Thailand’s pro-democracy “Red Shirts” in the International Parliamentary Union and the International Criminal Court. She has also been active in representing other clients facing legal/political issues around the world, including matters involving Venezuela, Guatemala, the United States, the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Nigeria, Zambia, Guinea and New Zealand.
Her work in the field of digital and privacy rights includes representation of Kim Dotcom in connection with the US Government’s shutdown and seizure of the file-sharing Internet site Megaupload.com.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and Management studies from University of Leeds, a Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course from Manchester Metropolitan University and is based in the firm’s London office.
Katy is a Solicitor in England and Wales.
